HOME

Welcome to the home of the South Florida Bass Rattlers. The club was formed as a non-profit organization more than 50 years ago by a handful of bass fishing enthusiasts. As the story goes, the founder himself was the inventor of the glass rattle that was once frequently inserted into plastic worms - hence the club's name. Their goals were to share knowledge among the members, organize fishing events, promote camaraderie and contribute to the conservation efforts of all wildlife in Florida. We are not the most cut-throat, competitive bass fishing club in the area, nor do we want to be. Over the years we have deliberately kept the size of the club manageable. We value the importance and contributions of non-boaters just as much as boat owners.

Today, the Bass Rattlers continue the tradition.

Mr. Bass Rattler himself - Terry Nagy. One of our founding members. The photo on the right was him in 1975 at Lake Okeechobee. It was his first tournament bass over 5 pounds.
